Sarotix Expense Tracker Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Sarotix Expense Tracker desktop application (the "App") developed by Sarotix. By installing, purchasing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, Sarotix grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install, and run the App on your compatible personal computers. The App is licensed to you, not sold.

2. License Key and Restrictions

When you purchase a Pro license, you will receive a license key through our licensing partner, Lemon Squeezy. Your license key may be activated on up to the maximum number of devices permitted by your purchased license tier. You agree not to:

• Share, sell, rent, lease, distribute, or sublicense your license key to any third party.
• Decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the App.
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App.
• Bypass, disable, or circumvent any licensing verification, security mechanisms, or device limit controls inside the App.

3. User Responsibility & Data Backup

The App is an offline-first application. Sarotix does not host, sync, backup, or maintain any of your database files, transactions, or passwords in the cloud. All information is stored purely on your local hardware. You are solely responsible for:

• Configuring and maintaining secure local backups of your App data and files.
• Securing your devices and passwords against unauthorized physical or digital access.
• Remembering your local Lock Password (if enabled). Sarotix cannot recover lost passwords or restore inaccessible data files.

4. Software Updates

We may occasionally provide updates, patches, bug fixes, or new versions of the App. These updates are designed to improve performance, add features, and fix issues. You are encouraged to install updates to ensure the secure and correct operation of the App.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SAROTIX DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SAROTIX DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE FUNCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE APP WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, THAT THE OPERATION OF THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT FINANCIAL CALCULATION OR EXPORT FEATURES (PDF, CSV, JSON) WILL ALWAYS BE 100% ACCURATE.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SAROTIX OR ITS CREATORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE APP LICENSE.
